George Walker Leads Oaklands Wolves to Historic Victory

George Walker, 19, Oaklands alumnus and current head of development, led his Herts U13 girls squad, comprised of 10 Oaklands Wolves players, to their first victory in 12 years at the Basketball England East Region Inter-counties tournament. His staff included two Oaklands Wolves coaches, Catlin Ryan and Graham Roberts.

The girls won all four of their matches that day, including a tight 1-point clincher over Essex in the dying seconds of the game. Walker also coached the U13 boys’ team to triumph in their competition, winning all three of their matches to secure first place.

This victory marks George Walker’s fourth consecutive U13 inter-counties title while going undefeated, a huge achievement and a testament to the growing success at the Wolves junior club.
