Oaklands Wolves Shine in Opening Weekend with Wins Across All Levels

Oaklands Wolves made a strong start to the season, with both senior and junior teams securing victories. The Wolves women's Academy team dominated Division Two, defeating London Thunder 75-50. Caitlin Ryan’s early triples and Darcey Woodman’s 16 points helped the Wolves take control early, extending their lead to 48-22 by half-time. Paris Mitchell-Tyson added 13 points, with Ryan contributing nine.

Wolves' U18 men’s team delivered a thrilling 101-95 victory against Eastbourne Neptunes in their NBL Conference debut. Late heroics from Can Okumus and strong performances from Oluwanifemi Boyejo (28 points) and Avishka Kurawalana (27 points) sealed the comeback win.

Several junior teams also enjoyed success. The U16 girls followed up last week's National Cup win with a 70-49 league victory over Cambridge Cats, led by Eunice Wong’s 23 points. The U16 boys secured a 92-69 victory over London Greenhouse Pioneers, with Otis Lau-Johnston scoring 23 points and Sam Mcree adding a 17-point, 17-rebound double-double. The U14 boys cruised to an 83-48 win over Kent Panthers, with Jacob Edrupt's 29 points and 11 steals leading the way.
