Assessment

All students work towards the Certificate in Functional Skills in English. All Speaking and Listening is assessed internally by your tutor. It is then quality checked internally and finally checked by a moderator from the awarding body. Entry 3 assignments in Reading and Writing are paperbased and assessed by your tutor in a more informal setting. Level 1 Reading and Writing assignments can be paperbased or online and are assessed externally by the exam board. The tutor will assess you regularly throughout the year using college online resources and past papers.

Career options

On completion of Entry 3 and Level 1, you will be given a diagnostic test to assess your suitability to progress to the next level. Level 1 and Level 2 students should consider progression to GCSE and will need to make an online application to do so.

Please contact us to find out if you require any specific equipment for this particular course.
