About the course

This course is funded by Step2Skills for residents of Hertfordshire. When you enrol you are agreeing to complete paperwork to reflect and record your progress. Attendance is vital, so first check that you are available to attend each weekly lesson. New for 24/25 this short introduction course in for absolute beginners or those with very little experience, it aims to build your confidence, understanding and practical skills in utilising some of the facilities available on your smartphone. Over the three weeks we will cover: adding/ editing contact and emergency numbers. The layout of the screen, home screen and app drawer. Basic Settings ' adjust brightness, screen timeout, font size and adding a basic security code. Explore the interface and basic navigation to features such us the control panel, notification panel and volume bar. Connecting to wifi at home and other networks and a tour around the App stores where you will search, download and delete unwanted apps. You will also get to grips with the terminology. There are no entry requirements, just a willingness to learn and explore what your smartphone has to offer.
Materials to be provided by the learners: A charged mobile phone, pencil and pad to take notes.
