Entry requirements

A minimum of 4 GCSEs at grade 3 - 1 or successful completion of an Entry Level programme.

Teaching staff

You will be taught by teachers with a range of experience in both site carpentry and bench joinery. All tutors are qualified carpenters from industry and have a varied range of skills in relation to carpentry & joinery. The tutors are supported by technicians with relevant qualifications and industry experince.

About the course

This is a part-time evening course taken one evening per week over 12 weeks for adult learners aged 19+. It is ideal if you would like to develop basic hand tool skills and is excellent preparation the L2 Site Carpenty evening course.

Career options

On completion of the level 1 course you could progress onto the part-time Level 2 Site Carpentry course.

Many carpenters and joiners are self-employed. You could also find work with large construction companies, local authorities, shopfitting firms, or in set-building for theatre and television.
