About the course

This course equips job seekers with the knowledge and skills they need to gain employment or progress their career. The course covers the following areas: - Planning for progression and preparing for work (identifying own strengths and areas for improvement, setting targets, reviewing progress) - Searching and applying for a job (researching information, understanding job descriptions and requirements, job applications, preparing a CV - Effective skills for learning and work (attitudes, personal development plan) - Effective communication (verbal and non-verbal communication, appropriate behaviour, giving and receiving feedback) - Interview skills (preparation, question and answer techniques, appropriate dress, mock interviews, presentations for interviews, evaluating own performance). As part of the course, you will be supported to produce a good quality CV, search and apply for real vacancies, and undergo mock interviews with feedback for any improvements needed to enhance your chances of being offered a suitable job or promotion. Upon successful completion of all units for this course, you will receive a qualification certificate from the awarding body, City & Guilds, to boost your CV and demonstrate your commitment and skills to employers.
