Entry requirements

A minimum of 4 GCSEs at grade 3 -1 or successful completion of an Entry Level programme. A professional Reference and an interview with the Hair and Beauty Team.

Teaching staff

Your teachers and assessors will have a minimum of five years industry experience supporting your learning and assessment targets and plans. You will be supported by an internal verifier throughout the assessment process.

The course consists of units are devised by VTCT. The units involve theory, practical and home study.

Career options

The purpose of this qualification is to develop your skills in both hair and beauty and will provide you with the foundation for further learning. It will also enable you to perform your own services and to assist others in the salon. This qualification will support progression to Level 2 (in chosen vocational area)

Our Hair and Beauty courses enable you to work in a wide variety of salons, nail bars, spas, cruise ships, or even work abroad in luxury resorts. Depending on the level you choose to study, we recommend that you carry on climbing the ladder within Oaklands, and then onto university or into employment.

Course Content - What will I learn?

During the course you will learn about the exciting and creative Hair and Beauty industry. Practical assessments will take place whilst you are treating clients, you will also undergo written tests, complete assignments and compile a portfolio of work, including observations.

You will need to receive all treatments as well as provide them to external clients and on peers. Clients are provided through the Oasis salon. Timetables are subject to change. YOU WILL BE REQUIRED TO PURCHASE A UNIFORM AND KIT THROUGH THE COLLEGE (COST approx. 300.00)
