Assessment

Yo will be assed by successfully construction a number of practical carpentry tasks. There are a number of written theory assessments & an on-line Health & Safety exam preparing you for a CSCCS test (CSCS test not included as part of the qualification)

Career options

On successful completion of your study programme you will be able to apply for either L2 Site carpentry, L2 Bench joinery or progress into an alternative construction area of the college.

Many carpenters and joiners are self-employed. You could also find work with large construction companies, local authorities, shopfitting firms, or in set-building for theatre and television.

Course Content - What will I learn?

You will learn how to safely use carpentry tools. You will learn how to read drawings, set out & construct a number of different carpentry joints. You will also learn about construction safety.
