About the course

The aim of this qualification is to provide you with the knowledge and understanding of babies and young children from birth to 7 years of age with applied knowledge in the early years, 0-5 years. It covers a range of job roles working in Early Years.

Career options

This qualification will allow you to work under supervision in an assistant role in childcare settings. You could also progress onto the Level 3 Certificate.

Course Content - What will I learn?

You will learn about: the developing child, what makes a safe, healthy and nurturing environment for children and the importance of play on a child's development. You will undertake 300 hours of work placement which will be arranged by the college. You will also continue to develop your maths and English skills throughout the programme.
