About the course

The course aims to provide you with the specialist knowledge, understanding and skills required for entering a career in the Industry or for continuing your studies into Higher Education. It is a broad based course covering a wide range of topics essential to the Tourism industries.

Career options

Progression routes are clear with options if you have an ambition to study Higher Education or take the route into employment perhaps through an apprenticeship in this or a related discipline. Students over 19 should be aware that funding for this programme may be restricted and as such they are advised to contact the advice and guidance team at the college for more details and information

Course Content - What will I learn?

The course aims to provide you with a specialist qualification that focuses on the travel and tourism industry. The qualification covers a wide range of topics from tourist destinations, promotion and sales in travel and tourism, tourist guiding, the tourism opportunities available to visitors, being a holiday park host, how to organise conference and events and how to respond to emergencies in tourism destinations. In the second year you will also have the opportunity to undertake a qualification in Introduction to Cabin Crew which is specifically designed for students who wish to work as cabin crew.
The programme may involve an external trip yet to be confirmed. This may result in some additional cost to the student.
