About the course

The course aims to encourage you to explore pottery, working at your own pace in a friendly and relaxed environment. You will cover the basics in clay preparation and be introduced to varies techniques including throwing, slab building, coiling and the use of slips and glazing.

Course Content - What will I learn?

The course offers a variety of methods of clay work. You will have the opportunity to learn the techniques of coiling, slab building, wheel-work, slip decorating and glazing.
The course fee includes a material charge to cover the cost of clay, glazing and firing, up to a maximum weight of 1.5kg. If 1.5kg is exceeded then additional costs will apply. Materials to be provided by the student: An apron, sketch book/notebook. Students will be advised on any further items they may require for individual projects.
