Assessment

Learner feedback and observation of your ability to handle tools and materials associated with the various printmaking techniques. Regular group and individual critiques. There is no formal assessment.

About the course

The first week we will review individual levels of skill and identify what participants would like to achieve from the course. Individual learning plans will be agreed with the tutor. Group demonstrations will take place over the course duration and will include reductive lino print, alternative mono print techniques and collography, however, as the course will become individually led other techniques and processes maybe facilitated. The course is run as a printmakers workshop with 1:1 tutor support.

Career options

You may wish to attend the next Printmaking Workshop course and continue your development as a printmaker with an individual learning plan agreed with yourself and the tutor.

Course Content - What will I learn?

In these workshops you will learn how to combine printing techniques such as mono printing and lino to produce more complex compositions exploring colour, shape, texture and pattern. Sessions will introduce you to a range of contemporary print work. This research will inspire and inform the work produced and improve your own development and final outcomes. Whilst printmaking techniques will be demonstrated on a weekly basis, there will be a greater emphasis on self-directed study in the studio and focused 1:1 tuition, this will enable you to create individually led artwork. Regular group and 1:1 critiques will help you review and plan your work. You will finish by being shown how to present your work professionally through mounting and will leave with a portfolio of prints.
Materials and equipment to be provided by the learners: Pencils, glue stick, ruler, scissors and optional sketchbook with drawings and ideas.

Please contact us to find out if you require any specific equipment for this particular course.
