About the course

This course is funded by Step2Skills for residents of Hertfordshire. When you enrol you are agreeing to complete paperwork to reflect and record your progress. Attendance is vital, so first check that you are available to attend each weekly lesson. This short 6 week course will provide you with the tools to protect yourself against fraud and cyber- crime when online.You will learn about accessing secure websites and understand what makes them a secure site, navigate shopping sites, how to create a secure password and staying safe online by identifying junk mail/ phishing emails, clearing history Cache, favourites and more. We also invite an external speaker from the Serious Fraud & Cyber Unit who will have invaluable insight. You need to be able to use a keyboard and mouse and have some experience accessing the internet and email.
