Assessment

You will be assessed in the following way: You will be assessed through a mixture of internal and external assessments. Year 1: Core component: paper A written examination paper B written examination employer set project in order to achieve a grade for core component, students must have results for both sub-components (the core (written) examination and the employer set project). The combined results from these sub-components will be aggregated to form the overall core component grade (A*'E and U). No overall grade will be issued for the core component until both sub-components have been attempted. Year 2: Occupational specialism component: Synoptic assignment The student is also required to successfully achieve a distinction/merit/pass grade in the occupational specialism component.

About the course

Enrolling now for September 2024 start. The T-Level is split into three main sections: Technical qualification (TQ) is the main, classroom-based element. Students will learn about their chosen sectors through a curriculum designed by employers and developed by an awarding organisation (AO). Industry placement runs for a minimum of 315 hours (45 days) overall and will give students practical insights into their sector and an opportunity to embed the knowledge and skills learned in the classroom. English, maths and digital provision are also built into the classroom-based element of the T Level, meaning students will be given a solid foundation of transferable skills.

Course Content - What will I learn?

The purpose of the T Level Technical Qualification in Digital Production, Design and Development is to ensure students have the knowledge and skills needed to progress into highly skilled employment, an Apprenticeship or higher level study, including university, within the specialist area of software design and development. At the end of the Technical Qualification, students are expected to demonstrate threshold competence, which means that they have gained the core knowledge and skills related to software design and development and are well placed to develop full occupational competence with additional development and support once in employment in the digital sector.
