The Student Experience

Your Student Journey

Choosing a college is about more than selecting a course—at Oaklands, we’re dedicated to helping you gain the skills, opportunities, and support needed to progress by the time you graduate. Whether your goal is university, further training, or stepping straight into your career, we’ll help you make the most of college life.

What to Expect

We know every student is unique. That’s why we take the time to get to know you personally, providing one-on-one support tailored to your needs. From academic guidance to activities outside the classroom, our goal is to help you grow both academically and personally. You’ll have the independence to take charge of your own learning, while we support your progress every step of the way.

College Life

College life extends beyond the classroom. From sports clubs and student union activities to work experience opportunities, there’s always something happening on campus. Our Student Advice teams and Enrichment Teams are here to help you get involved and make the most of your time at Oaklands.

The Campus

Oaklands College has two main campuses, each offering a unique range of courses in distinct environments. At the St Albans campus, you'll find a more traditional atmosphere with lush greenery, while the Welwyn Campus provides a modern, urban setting. Both campuses are designed to offer an ideal learning experience tailored to their specific courses.

The LRCs provide a dedicated study space with a wide selection of books, access to computers, and facilities for printing, copying, and finishing documents in both black and white or colour.

Disabled parking is available on-site, with limited spaces for students.

Each campus has its own refectory, serving hot meals, chilled food, snacks, and a range of Starbucks drinks from breakfast until late afternoon. At the St Albans campus, students can also enjoy freshly prepared meals at discounted prices in the Stables Restaurant.

Students can use the gym for free, with the opportunity to join the Wolves Academy available for aspiring and competitive athletes.

Discounted hair and beauty treatments are available at the Oasis Salon.
