Types of Bursaries

This section outlines the eligibility criteria, the types of bursaries available, evidence required, and application details for enrolled students.

College Meal Element: Up to £1,861.50 for bursary meals.
Government Free School Meals: May provide additional meals.
Essential Kits, Books, and Course Equipment: Up to 50% reimbursement for approved items.
Travel Bursary: Available if living over 2 miles from college, subject to attendance.
Essential Kits, Books, and Course Equipment: Up to 50% reimbursement.
UCAS Fees: Covered at 100%.
Childcare: Funding through Care to Learn for eligible students.
Vulnerable Bursary (Aged 16-18)
For students living independently or care-experienced, £33 weekly during term time, based on attendance.
Eligible for travel bursaries, essential kits, UCAS fees, and trip costs.

Students meeting criteria receive £4.25 via their ID card for meal deals.

Available for those on level 3 or higher qualifications with an approved loan.

Eligibility Criteria

To apply for the bursary, students must provide the following evidence of household income, which should be below £29,250 annually (Tier 1) for full assessment:
  • Universal Credit statements (3 recent months)
  • Tax credit award letters
  • Benefit letters (dated within 3 months)
  • Proof of earnings (3 recent pay slips/P60)
  • Care experience letters, if applicable
How to Apply:
Visit the Student Advice Hub with required evidence starting August 22 2024. Bursaries can only be awarded after the bursary team reviews complete documentation.
