Student Apprenticeships

Become an apprentice

An apprenticeship is a genuine job that lets you earn while you learn, providing valuable skills and professional knowledge in a specific industry role. They can be an excellent way to gain access to a company or a sector you want to work in, and can put you in a strong position when there are permanent job opportunities.

Apprenticeships from Oaklands are from Level 2 through to Higher Education. They are also available to those already in their chosen career and looking to upskill.

Register your interest in becoming an apprentice using the enquiry form.

Why do an apprenticeship?

Being an apprentice offers many advantages, including:

  • Earning while learning - Unlike traditional education, apprentices get paid while they train, allowing you to earn an income as you develop your skills.
  • Hands-on experience - You gain practical, real-world experience, making you more job-ready compared to those with only academic knowledge.
  • Industry-relevant skills - Apprenticeships provide training that is tailored to the needs of specific industries, ensuring you learn the most relevant and up-to-date skills employers are seeking.
  • Career advancement - Completing an apprenticeship often leads directly to full-time employment, either with the training employer or in the industry at large. It’s a pathway to faster career progression compared to traditional routes.
  • Mentorship and networking - Apprentices work closely with experienced professionals who guide and mentor them. This relationship can lead to valuable industry connections and references for future career opportunities.
  • No debt - Apprenticeships often come with little to no tuition fees, allowing students to gain qualifications without the burden of student debt associated with university degrees.
