The Oaklands Wolves SLBW basketball programme was launched in 2017 to offer elite competition for academy girls, following an unbeaten run in National Basketball League women’s competitions.
Since its inception, it has become a hub for player development, with many academy athletes going on to achieve success in US college basketball, Europe, and with the GB national team.
Notable alumni include Tia Freeman, Kyla Nelson, Paige Robinson, Aliz Varga, and Louise Rouse, all of whom have continued their basketball careers at high levels.
In 2024, the Oaklands Wolves SLBW team takes an exciting leap forward, fully professionalising and setting its sights on building a powerhouse programme.
With ambitions to dominate on the court, the team is committed to not only achieving success for the College but also inspiring and energising the local community. This new chapter promises thrilling competition, growth, and a winning legacy.
